Race - Vettel eases to inaugural Indian victory |
2011-10-30 20:42:00 |
| Sebastian Vettel won the 2011 Formula 1 Airtel Grand Prix of India, but it might as well have been a replay of his victory in Korea a fortnight ago as he simply ran away and hid and left Jenson Button to chase him from a distance.
Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber were even further behind while yet another clash with Felipe Massa left a bitterly disappointed Lewis Hamilton to a seventh-place finish in the McLaren behind the Mercedes duo of Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg.

Pre-India analysis - drivers ready to relish voyage of discovery |
2011-10-28 13:18:00 |
| The Buddh International Circuit, home of the inaugural Indian Grand Prix has thus far met with strong approval ahead of Friday morning's first practice session.
Mercedes' Michael Schumacher led the praise when he said: I think they have done a very nice job here. It looks very interesting. Just seen the safety car running around and saw the elevation change, some blind spots, so quite a bit of a challenge for us with high and low speed corners, good overtaking, so a good mixture of all that we like to enjoy ourselves on so I look forward to drive the car. That's the real feeling. That's the only thing that really tells you how you feel about it.

Schumacher was overshadowed by younger team mate Nico Rosberg in 2010, and although he has closed the gap this season, Rosberg has still scored 50 percent more points thus far in 2011. Nevertheless, the 42-year-old insists he will be fulfilling his Mercedes contract next year
