Dani Clos joins HRT as tester |

| Spain's Dani Clos has joined the ranks of HRT as their test driver for the 2012 season. Clos, who participated in November's Abu Dhabi young driver test for the team, will travel to every Grand Prix, alongside racers Pedro de la Rosa and Narain Karthikeyan, and will take part in several Friday practice sessions.
I'm very proud to be a part of HRT Formula 1 Team, said the 23 year-old. It is a great step in my career, something that I have dreamt of all my life and, finally, my dream is starting to come true. I'm very impressed with the job the team is doing; they're achieving fantastic things in a short space of time.

| Narain Karthikeyan will partner Pedro de la Rosa in HRT's line-up for the 2012 season. Karthikeyan competed at the first eight 2011 Grands Prix for the Spanish team, before stepping aside for Red Bull protege Daniel Ricciardo, but made a one-off race return at his home Grand Prix in India in October.
It has taken a lot of hard work to make this happen but I am absolutely elated to feature on the 2012 grid with HRT F1 Team, said the Chennai-born driver. I was pleased with our strong performance at the Indian Grand Prix, in front of my passionate home fans and I look forward to building on this result in 2012. I have been training hard since the end of 2011, ensuring I was ready for the rigours of F1 if an opportunity arose.

Karthikeyan penalised for impeding Schumacher |

| HRT's Narain Karthikeyan has been handed a five-place grid penalty by the Indian stewards for impeding Mercedes' Michael Schumacher during Saturday's qualifying session for the New Delhi race.
After reviewing the evidence, the stewards decided Karthikeyan had blocked Schumacher during Q1. Despite the incident, the German managed to make it through to Q2 and eventually qualified in 12th. Karthikeyan, meanwhile, qualified in 21st.

| McLaren's Lewis Hamilton stole the fastest time from the Red Bull drivers right at the end of the first hour and a half-long practice session at a dusty Buddh International Circuit on Friday morning.
Many simulations had predicted an ultimate lap time of 1m 27s, but after local heroes Karun Chandhok and Narain Karthikeyan had opened the bidding with 1m 52.148s and 1m 45.906s respectively, the best lap time fell progressively as the ever-present dust got blown away by the passage of the cars and the track slowly began to rubber in and get rid of some of its surface oils.

| This weekend's European round may be the third street race in succession, but the industrial chic of host city Valencia certainly has a very different flavour to the lushness of Montreal's Ile Notre-Dame and the old-world glamour of Monte Carlo. Situated in the recently-revamped marina area, and with garages located in old fish warehouses, the Spanish track has a very distinctive vibe.
In the build-up to the on-track action there was a raft of pre-race activities for the drivers to enjoy. The HRT duo were amongst the most busy, with Vitantonio Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan helping to make (and then tucking into) a huge Paella (the dish originated in Valencia) on Wednesday night. On Thursday they had the chance to work off any calories by testing their mettle on jet skis.

| Christian Klien has revealed he's making every effort to land the final vacant slot on the 2011 grid, at HRT. Klien, who raced for the Spanish team at three Grands Prix in 2010, is working hard behind the scenes to secure the second seat alongside Narain Karthikeyan, despite some tough competition from other drivers.
My manager Roman Rummenigge is in permanent contact with the team's management, Klien explained in an interview with his official website. Needless to say I would love to drive for HRT. I am convinced the team will make good progress and surprise a few people. In Geoff Willis and chief designer Paul White they have engineers who know very well how to build competitive racing cars. I would love to develop it further. And they are masters of efficiency like no other team on the grid.
