Formula One Fantasy - Virgin's Timo Glock |
2011-08-31 19:48:00 |
| Driving for young upstarts Virgin at the blunt end of the grid, Timo Glock doesn't have one of the easiest roles in Formula One, with 14th at last year's Japanese Grand Prix his highest finish after almost two years with the team.
A spot of daydreaming about his F1 fantasies must be a bit of light relief for the 29 year-old German. Practice Two - McLaren's turn for a Melbourne one-two |
2011-03-25 16:21:00 |
| McLaren ended the second session of practice first and second in Albert Park on Friday evening, with Jenson Button pipping team mate Lewis Hamilton by 0.132s as only 0.429s covered the top five.
The session began under the threat of rain, which fortunately held off to enable all of the runners bar HRT, whose cars were still not ready, to run on both the hard and the soft Pirellis. There were plenty of off-track incidents, centring around Timo Glock, Sebastien Buemi, Vitaly Petrov, Heikki Kovalainen, Adrian Sutil and Rubens Barrichello, but nobody did any damage as they explored the limits.

Glock set to miss final test after appendix operation |
2011-03-01 23:24:00 |
| Virgin's Timo Glock is expected to miss next week's final pre-season test at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix on Monday. Glock is currently recovering in a hospital in Switzerland following the routine operation.
I can confirm that Timo had an operation yesterday to remove his appendix after a sudden case of appendicitis, explained Virgin team principal John Booth. The procedure was routine and Timo is recovering well in a Swiss hospital where he is likely to remain for a further 24 hours. To ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely that he will take part in next week's test in Barcelona. We look forward to having Timo back with us very soon.
