Kimi Räikkönen is one of the most popular and successful drivers in Formula 1 history. Born on October 17, 1979, in Espoo, Finland, Räikkönen began his racing career at a young age, competing in karting championships before moving up to car racing.

Kimi Räikkonen - early years

Räikkönen made his Formula 1 debut in 2001 with Sauber, where he impressed with his speed and skill. He then moved to McLaren in 2002, where he won his first race in Malaysia and finished the season in sixth place. In 2003, Räikkönen finished as the runner-up in the championship, narrowly losing out to Michael Schumacher.

The Ferrari years – World Champion

In 2007, Räikkönen joined Ferrari, where he won his first championship in his debut season with the team. He then finished third in the championship in 2008, before taking a two-year break from Formula 1 to compete in the World Rally Championship.

Räikkönen returned to Formula 1 in 2012 with Lotus, where he won two races and finished third in the championship. He then moved back to Ferrari in 2014, where he has been a consistent performer, finishing in the top five in the championship every year.
